Well, I've pretty much been off-line for the past week, and it looks like I've missed a lot!  You guys really are an amazingly talented bunch!
As for me, I finished the Bubble Gum dress, and fluffy petti for E.  I also finished the Archery Gown!  Gasp!  It only took about 6 mos.  I also threw together a one-hour bonnet.  It's not exactly what I was shooting for, but I was just too tired to do any more.  It'll do the job, so I guess that's what counts. (I was up 'till 2a.m)
Today is the W&D Picnic, so everything will be getting an outing.  My good camera broke, so, I'll hve to make do with the crappy old one that has no zoom. *Sigh*  We'll be picking up a new one tomorrow, a day late and a dollar short!
I'll post what pics I get tonight or tomorrow.

I tried the Bubble Gum dress on E last night, only to find that some where between checking the fit of the bodice, and sewing the skirt on, it shrank!  I have now had to add a placket sort of thing to one side of the back opening just to get the darned thing to close.
Then while getting started on the hand work, I realized my most favoritest, most useful thimble has gone on the lamb.  Now I'll have to get another one, 'cause I just can't do hand work without it.  So sad:(

Despite appearances to the contrary, I have been sewing and even made progress on E's W&D dress!
I'm gonna go ahead and cut this now )

I just purchased tickets to the Wives And Daughters picnic, thereby lighting the proverbial fire under my arse!

I think.   She was sent home from school yesterday with a tummy ache.  About 2:00, she got a slight fever.  We went to the Dr.'s (it's becoming our regular Tuesday thing) but he didn't have an answer.  Though he did say it may be related to the heat?
No fever when she woke up this morning, but since she hadn't had anything to eat since lunch yesterday, I kept her home.  Now her temp is a bit elevated, and she says her tummy hurts again.  I hate not knowing what's going on, 'cause I have no way to fix it!
Sewing stuff:
We tried on the W&D bodice a second time.  I need to do some contouring at the neck line, it's way to gappy.  I'm hoping to do that tonight, depends on how the princess is feeling.

I was able to get W&D bodice m.u. #2 done last night.  Seems to fit o.k..  I need to adjust the neckline, it's a little too high.  Also got started on a ruffled petticoat to go with.  If I have time, I'd like to make some bloomers to go under the whole lot.
I'll try to get some pic up tomorrow.  right now we're off to Marine World with E's good friend!

Bodice pattern for E's W&D re-done.  Hope to cut and sew tonight.
That is all.

Sewing wise, not much to report.  I've been busy working in Mrs. R's class (the kinder aid quit less than a week before the first day of school), working on fundraisers for the parent teacher organization (PTO), and spending time in E's class.  I hope to get version 2.0 of E's W&D dress mocked up this weekend.  So that leaves tomorrow night.  Too tired from the play date madness of today.

I think I've decided on #2.   I started on the patterning and even got a 1st draft of the bodice made up, only to realize I should have drafted out the darts, dropped the shoulder seam and added a curved back seam.  Oh well, back the the drawing board!

Now that the Faire sewing is done (pretty much), I'm turning my attention to E's Wives and Daughters dress.
In other news, I started my history of costume class yesterday.  I'm really excited about this one.  JJ, the instructor form my pattern making courses is teaching this one too.  As she is a fellow costume enthusiast it works out well!
Now, I'm a terrible student.  I hate to study, and I hate o write papers.  But I don't think that will be a problem with this class.  We've already been given our major assignments, and really, they are things I do just for fun!

Our first task, is to watch a costume flick an analyze the accuracy of them.  Hello!  Don't we all just do that for the fun of it?  This gives me an excuse to go see Duchess in the theater!

The second project is to find for modern designs that are inspired by four different historic periods.  Fun again!

The last project is a little more involved.  We have to research a non-western or folk style of dress, and design an outfit inspire by it.  More fun!

Now I have a legitimate reason for surfing the net looking for cool cloths!  Hee, hee!
