Good anielmom....
My goal for today was to get the other sleeve lining sewn in on the paletot, and to do 2 boning channels on the corset. I got the sleeve sewn in while at
hruggles this afternoon, and I just finished sewing on 3, count 'em 3, boning channels. That means I've got 11 out of 20 channels sewn, officially over the 1/2 way mark!

If you're at all surprised to see that I'm going to be binding this in pink, you haven't been paying attention.

Of course, I need some pretty lace. Hard to see here, but it's got a pink ribbon running through it.

And the two together. I like seeing the pink binding behind the lace.
Either of these would have to be made in cotton. I refuse to shell out the bucks for something she's libel to stain, not to mention outgrow in a few months time.
Option 1:

From Authentic Victorian Fashion Patterns. Not sure how she'd handle the super high neckline.
Option 2: Double breasted polonaise, 1874 (click on the picture for a larger view)
This one's much simpler as far as the pattern goes, and should be a cinch to size up. I'd need to make an underskirt, as well as a waist. I know at some point she'd want to take the polonaise off. Also. I'm not sure how this would do in a cotton.
Hmmm.....decisions, decisions.
I also plan on making her the Nina Bowan dress that the lovely vandhistoric so generously has made available. This one will need to be ready for Dickens in Dec. 'Cause I'm going this year damn it!
