Not perfect, but.....

It'll have to do. I've run out of time for fiddling if I want to get a dress made by mid-July.

I'm getting a little to much smoosh. On the next version, I'll take a little out of the front under the bust, so I get more lift.

After taking out 4", not 2", 4"!, my gap is almost even. Almost will just have to be good enough.
I've also acquired a new craft. (I know, I needed one of those like a hole in the head) But Viking wireweaving is so simple and portable! I'm having fun experimentiing while E is in swim lessons.
