Wow! What a great weekend!  It was long and tiring, but great.
After I picked E up from school on Friday, we headed up to our reservation.  For once we got there early and had time to visit and unwind from the drive before we started the ceremonies.  There were so many people, which is unusal for first night.  There were about 30 women and girls dancing flowers.  And as I danced, I looked around and thought how beautiful it was.  E had a great time.  She danced her little feet off.
After we danced the flowers, E sat with me at the singers bench.  She loves to sing, and knows all the songs.  Sometimes when we can't remember a song, someone will ask her, and she can usually give you the right one.  She got tired after a while and went to sit by my mom for a bit.  By this time it was about 11:00, and she had been up since 7:00!  But when it was time for the last dance, she popped up and danced so hard she had all the Aunties in stitches.  Uncle R. told her he would never forget how well she danced that last round.
We got home at about 3:00am Saturday morning.  I tucked E in to bed dirty, dusty feet and all.
On Saturday, we were early again!  A record for us, as we are always late.  My cousin and I took E and my nephew for a walk and just relaxed a bit.
Then it was time to dance the strawberries.  Of course, E couldn't contain herself, and had to sing as well as dance.
The food was delicious and you have never tasted berries so sweet!
After dinner, we danced our flowers out, and took the special ones down to the cemetery.  Then it was more dancing and singing.  Our rock (the person who keeps the rhythm, lets the dancers know when to turn and ends the songs) had to leave early, so that left me to take his place.  It's hard on the voice to be both singer and rock!  By the end of the night, I was feeling it to be sure!  E danced every round, sometimes while up at the singers bench singing!
We called it a night around 11:30, and got home about 1:30.
Our next Round House isn't until July.   Four nights of celebration!  We'll be camping for that one, even though I detest camping!  But I refuse to do that much driving!
Not much going on sewing wise.  I still need to drape the skirt for the Archery Gown.  But first I need to get my corset cover thingie for the Venetian done.  I forgot that it's being displayed at our open house this weekend!  I would also like to get my regency chemise done.  It's been languishing in it's project bag since January, and it would be nice to have it done to wear with the Archery Gown.
And on a sad note for me, I found another gray hair!  That's two in two months.  I guess I wasn't joking when I told my cousin I told my cousin I was joining the ranks of the middle aged.  *sigh*
