We'll start with the sewing stuff, and go from there.
Despite life being rediculously stressful this week, I was able to get the toil of the Archery Dress finished. Sadly I don't have pics yet. Gemma is still languishing in the trunk of my car, along with my sewing box, pattern, fabric, and pretty much everything I need to work on it. Oh, and she's wearing the toil. Hopefully, Ill be able to get those up soon.
I now have all my fabric, and some thin black velvet ribbon to speed up the trim making process. I plan on pulling everything out today and getting started tomorrow.
Friday, we went with E's class to the beach. We here in Northern Ca. are very lucky to have such a wonderful coast line. From our little part of the world, the coast is a little less than an hour away. Unlike much of Southern Ca., Our cost is rugged and rocky. It can be very dangerous, but when treated with respect, it is an amazing place to visit.
We are blessed with an abundance of tide pools where one can find the most amazing creaures. As a child, my family spent countless days, gathering sea weed, and playing in the pools. I was excited to take E, and show her the things that fascinated me when I was her age. (We had not taken her before, because the beaches my parents took me as a child are just to dangerous for E. She would never be able to scramble down the cliffs as we did.)
We were up at 5:30, to get ready and take Marshmallow to my sisters house to be bunny sat. Then off to school to catch the bus. The ride was not as bad as I had anticipated, thank God.
We had so much fun. E loved looking for sea weed, as this is one of her favorite foods. We saw so many great creachers, and managed to remain relatively dry.
Here are just a few of the things we saw. (the batteries in my camera crapped out while we were pretty far out, and i was not going back to the beach the replace them)

That's about it for now. Sorry this post wound up being so long

Bunny stuff
Marshmallow, the ironic black bunny, has been very sick. I took him to the vet on Tuesday, because he had been sneezing. The Dr. said he had a sinus infection and gave him Baytril, an antibiotic that has been proven safe for rabbits. Well, leave it to my bunny to be the one to have a bad reaction.
By Tuesday night, he had the scoots. By Wednesday morning his tummy was growling so loud, that at first I thought it was mine. He was eating and drinking normally, so the Vet said just to watch him and call in the morning. He still had the scoots.
I woke up Thursday to find to find that he had stopped eating and drinking, and was no longer pooping. This is very dangerous for a rabbit. There digestive systems must keep moving or they can die very quickly.
Of course all of this was very upsetting to E, who loves her bunny very much. She was worried about him and also upset that I would not be in her classroom, as I had to stay hom to take care of him.
I called the Vet. as soon as they opened. He had me come in and pick up some Critical Care food, which is high in nutrients and fiber. He also sent me to pick up something called Beni-Bac, which will help restore the good bacteria that lives in rabbits digestive trac. The Vet said to watch him and if he didn't poop by the morning to bring him in. As Marshmallow was not willing to eat anything on his own I would have to force feed him.
Now, I don't know haw many of you have ever tried to force feed a rabbit, but let me tell you, it is not easy! I was bound and determined that he was going to live, so I put all my trepidation about being bitten aside and jumped right in. The first attempt did not go that well, he was able to spit most of the stuff out and wound up with gross green blobs all over his fur. I decided to leave it there, if he had enough energy to groom, perhaps he would ingest some of it.
I mixed up anther batch, this time making it thinner, and was able to get about an ounce down him. I did this 3 more times over the course of the day. And by the last one he had had enough. He got so angry, he flipped himself over and started pawing at my lap and bagging his head into my hand. I was happy! If he was able to fight that hard, maybe he was turning the corner.
I had to go the class to have the fit of my Archery gown checked, so we left him reluctantly. I only stayed for 1 hour of a 3 hour class and rushed home to check on the bunny.
To my great relief, D said he had been nibbling on some hay, and carrots! This was good, if only he would poop.
By 8:00pm He did just that. Then he started to eat more normally. I was so happy! E had already gone to bed, we had a big field trip on Friday, so she would have to wait until morning to hear the happy news.
I went to bed feeling better that I had in days, and when we woke up, E, was so happy.
Marshmallow is pretty much back to normal now. He ate everything offerd to him yesterday, and his digestive system seems to be running smoothly. Thank Heavens. I don't know how E would handle the loss of such a beloved friend.
