Alright. that might be a tad strong. But pleats really annoy me.
I accomplished what I set out to do for today. Namely trace off patterns, add s.a., and get the paletot cut out I even started stitching the muslin that isn't muslin, and have the back pleats pinned in. I'll finish basing those suckers down tomorrow, then get the fronts on.

It's hard to see in the busy grapeiness, but there are some box pleats here. Not lovin' the seam down the back, but the piece is so wide there's no way it will fit without it, and, that's what the instructions call for.
This is what E and I came home to this afternoon:


Look closely and you can just see the green glow of kitty eyes.

He pulled the pinned pattern off the dress form and crawled in. Luckily, it escaped relatively unharmed. Only a few minor tears.
Apparently, Sebastian the cat thinks paletot are infinity more exciting than chemises. Can't say I blame him.
