The headache finally left. The only problem then was that I couldn't sleep. I was up 'till about 5am, and when I did fall asleep, I had the weirdest dream that D. was shouting for me. So that, of course, woke me right back up. Arrgh!
i did manage to get the laundry done and some cookies baked, but the rest of the house work will have to wait until i have a bit more energy.
And of course, E. has decided she is not going to have a good day. Most days she is an angel, but sometimes....
Sigh. I guess someone will not be having cookies
Ok, now onto the real reason for this post. Sleeves!
Two views of the puff sleeve. It needs more PUFF! It just gets lost up there, what with all the gathers. A -slashing and a-spreading I will go. I also need to add a bit of length. There's not quite enough room to get the bottom sleeve in . Also, I can't lift my arm past shoulder hight. That definitely needs fixing.
Two views of full length sleeve. I'm pretty happy with this part. the description of the gown makes no mention of how the sleeve is closed, so I think I'll use hook and eye. I don't want anything visible, so a button is out.
I need to make a base/lining onto which to mount the lower sleeve. That will require taking out some of the fullness and shortening it quite a bit. That should help keep it up where it belongs. I don't have to worry about hemming, as it will be bound.
I most likely won't be working on it tonight as I have class. I think we're draping the basic skirt block. So inspiring. (rolls eyes). Tomorrow I'll be to tired from our trip to Marine World, Saturday, we're going to see E's teacher sing. Don't know if I ever mentioned she is an opera singer. That should be fun. So I'm guessing I won't be working on it until Monday, with sunday being Easter and all.
