Ever since [livejournal.com profile] hruggles mentioned it, I've been toying with the idea of going to October Crown. This would of course necessitate new garb, most likely of the 13th/14th century variety. So, when a friend of mine gave me 31yds of linen, in varying hues at 3yds or more each, my mind started working overtime. Now, I'll be the first to admit that my knowledge of medieval fashion is limited to what I learned in my History of Costume class, so I am by no means an expert here, but I do know what I like.
So, I think I'm going for a fitted dress, probably between 4 and 6 gores, with a cyclas over the top. Haven't decided on colours yet, depends on how much fabric the mock up takes, which I won't know until I actually make the pattern.

E also needs a new frock. Her pink faire frock still fits, I just need to let down the hem, but she nerds a new undergown. I'll most likely use the celery green linen, 'cause, you know, pink and green rock. For the pattern, I'm pretty sure I'll be using a Norse underdress pattern found at silverdor.org. Looks very much like a T-tunic when done. (hruggles has made a couple, so I've seen the pattern in action.)

Before I get started on all these new projects though, I need to finish the paletot. The weather is cool enough in the mornings to be able to enjoy it, and it continues to glare at me from its spot on the dress form.
