Alright, I've been looking for thrift store hats for this thrifty bonnets class I'm taking on Saturday.  Not having much luck finding anything.  I picked up a few, but I'm not really diggin' any of them.
But the real reason for this post is the SHOES!  I found 2 pair that will be perfect for 18th cent.  I plan on using the method put forth by [livejournal.com profile] bauhausfrau  the Shoe Goddess.

I broke my self imposed ban on buying more patterns. It's not like I'm not perfectly capable of making my own.   What can I say?  I'm a sucker for a sale.  I did only buy 3 however.
So, here they are:

couldn't help myself on this one.  It's so girlie and sweet.  Not sure I'll ever make it, but.....

As the next era I plan to tackle is Victorian, I thought I'd give view c a shot.  It'll be my practice one, before I attempt with the Truly Victorian pattern, or try to draft my own.

And for the man in my life.  The pattern pieces look pretty good shape wise, so perhaps I'll give this one a try.

they didn't have any cute girls costumes that I don't already have.  But the Simplicity sale is coming up soon.  E wants to be a pirate.  As I flat out refuse to sew a generic pirate, I'm thinking something vaguely 19thc with a cincher (that doesn't actually cinch of course).  We'll see.
