I'm having issues

anielmomThe sleeve on the Sense & sensibility pattern is giving me grief. I've heard that they are sometimes an issue. Being me, I decided to use the latest version of the Modern Regency as a mock up. Bad idea, but chalk it up to laziness.
I've got way too many gathers at the sleeve head. The instruction sheet says it's supposed to fit smoothly, but I'm not havin' any luck with that.
The sleeve is also wrinkling like crazy up my arm. I'm thinking I'm going to shorten it to be a bit above the elbow.
I don't have the drawstring in yet, so I've just tucked it into my shift/stays to hold it in place. I swear the bodice fits better than this.
And the back. I have more gathers in the front. If I have any at all, they should be in the back. I checked and rechecked, and the sleeve is in the right way round, so I'm at a loss.
Any suggestions? I've got enough fabric that I can cut out new sleeves if need be.
I was hoping to have it done in time for Valentine's day, but that's not likely at this point.
